On your device, under Settings > Developer options, disable the following 3 settings: ![]() To avoid flakiness, we highly recommend that you turn off system animations on the virtual or physical devices used for testing. The official espresso documentation states: That’s why it’s mostly recommend to disable animations for testing. If it’s not quick enough, it will miss it. Just imagine a button flying over the screen and espresso tries to click it. While this does not have to be a problem (we have a bunch of tests which work just fine with having animations enabled), it can cause issues.
